Bike Friendly Business Program!

What could be better than a bike ride to or through South Osborne? How about biking while making connections with local businesses?

Bike Friendly Businesses offer cyclist-friendly amenities, like bike racks, drinking water, public restrooms and more.

Welcome Locations offer additional bike-friendly amenities including bike repair tools and locks!

The Bike Friendly Business Program aims to encourage connections between cyclists and South Osborne Businesses. Strap on your helmet and come visit participating businesses today!

POKER RUN on South Osborne

Over the course of a few weeks, visit any five of our 12 South Osborne Bike Friendly Businesses and draw a playing card at each one.

The objective? To have the best poker hand at the end of the run.

Drop off your completed hand by 3pm on September 21st at: Park Line Coffee, 685 Osborne St.

Kicks off September 7th and ends September 21st, 2025! GOOD LUCK!

PRIZES

1. BEST POKER HAND. Prize is a South Osborne gift card package ($100 value).

2. PRIZE DRAW. Prize is a South Osborne package ($100 value).

Poker Run Contest Details

  1. The contest opens at 10:00AM CST on September 7th, 2025 and closes at 3:00PM CST on September 21st, 2025.
  2. To take part in the contest, select a card (face down) from the deck of cards at provided at our Bike Friendly Businesses. Please ensure a staff member at the Bike Friendly Business provides their signature on the chosen card.
  3. Those taking part must visit at least 5 of the 12 Bike Friendly Businesses in order to have a completed hand. A standard poker hand consists of five cards, so please submit 5 cards as your completed hand.
  4. Completed hands must be submitted by 3pm on September 21st, 2025 at the front counter of Park Line Coffee, 685 Osborne Street (please place completed hand in an envelope along with an entry form with the following details – entrant name, phone, email, date and entrant signature).
  5. All Winnipeg residents eighteen years of age or older are eligible to enter to win. This contest is not available to employees or contractors of the South Osborne BIZ board, its membership, or members of their immediate families.
  6. The South Osborne BIZ is not responsible for lost or stolen or damaged prizes, or entries submitted after the contest deadline.
  7. Prize #1 will be for the BEST POKER HAND. Traditional poker hand rankings (like "two pairs" or "straight flush") determine the winner. Prize is a South Osborne gift card package ($100 value).
  8. Prize #2 will be done via a PRIZE DRAW (random selection). All participants who drop off their completed hands will be entered to win a South Osborne prize package ($100 value).
  9. Determination of winners will take place on September 23rd, 2025. Winners will be contacted via email or phone that day.  Winners will be announced on BIZ social media by September 28th, 2025.
  10. If the contest prizes are declined or if, for any reasons, the prize winners cannot be reached within seven (7) days, he or she will forfeit the prize and the South Osborne BIZ reserves the right to select another winner from the eligible entrants.
  11. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered.
  12. The contest winners must pick up the prizes in person at Park Line Coffee, 685 Osborne St, during regular business hours (8am-4pm Mon to Sat and 9am-4pm Sun), between September 29th to October 5th, 2025. Prize winners will be required to fill out a prize claim form and to provide sufficient identification at time of the giveaway pick up.
  13. This contest and these terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Canada and Manitoba.
  14. The South Osborne BIZ may at its sole discretion alter, amend, suspend or cancel this contest or amend the Contest Conditions at any time. Decisions of the South Osborne BIZ are final.  All entrants must meet and comply with all Contest Conditions.  Failure to do so will result in immediate disqualification and prize forfeit.
